NORTH TONAWANDA — Ruth M. Kureczka, age 82, of North Tonawanda, Sunday, October 23, 2011 in DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Ruth was a life-long resident of North Tonawanda and was a very active member of St. John Lutheran Church.
She was a volunteer for the Carousel Society of the Niagara Frontier for many years. She was an usher at the Riviera Theater and loved to bowl, play games and cards.
She was the wife of the late John Kureczka who died in 1993. Dear mother Joan (Jesse) Kureczka-Fisher of CA, Kathy (Dan) McIntire of Virginia Beach, VA and the late Jack Kureczka. Sister of Dorothy Hinkley of AZ and Esther (William) Stoeckel of Wheatfield; aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd., in North Tonawanda on Friday from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 AM from St. John Lutheran Church, the Rev. Ronald Oravec will officiate. Interment in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Carousel Society, 180 Thompson St., North Tonawanda, the Alzheimer's Association of WNY or St. John Lutheran Church.
