- Helen L. Schimschack, age 79 of Bergholz (Town of Wheatfield), NY, entered into rest unexpectedly on December 13, 2025 at her residence. Born February 11, 1946 in Lockport, NY; daughter of the late Kenneth and Frances (Wyman) Church. Helen earned her Associate Degree as a Dietitian at Erie Community College. She was employed at the University of Buffalo, as a Dietitian for twenty years. Helen was also previously employed at the former St. Mary's Nursing Home, on Main Street in Niagara Falls, and at the Duty Free store in Lewiston. She was a member of the former Sanborn Baptist Church, enjoyed flower gardening, had a green thumb with continuing growing her mother's African Violets, loved her home life, and the RV trips with her husband to Erie, PA. Survivors include her loving husband, Robert Schimschack, who she married October 22, 1966; a brother, Raymond (Kathy) Church of TN; a sister in law, Donna Church; and will be greatly missed by many close neighborhood friends. Helen was predeceased by a brother, James Church. A private graveside service with the family, will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, or the Niagara County SPCA. Arrangements were with the DuBois Funeral Home, Wheatfield, NY.
