- Norma Joanne CostoDecember 31, 1938 - December 30, 2024Norma Joanne (Heuer) Costo, a resident of Bishop’s Commons, formerly of Niagara Falls, NewYork, passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Residential Health Care Facility in Oswego, New York, on December 30, 2024; three hours away from celebrating her 86th birthday. Born in Niagara Falls, New York, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Elfreide Heuer.Norma graduated from Niagara Falls High School and was married to the late Richard (Dick) Costo for 60 years, together they raised three sons. In addition to being a stay-at-home mom, Norma catered events for a short time, before working and retiring as an office manager at Battenfeld Grease and Oil in North Tonawanda. Norma was deeply involved in her faith, as a lifelong member of the former St. Paul Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls. She enjoyed playing the piano, playing cards with her Bridge club, entertaining and cooking, and traveling with her husband.Norma is survived by sons, David (Lori) Costo, of Oswego, Mark (Sherry) Costo, of Martinez, Georgia, Paul (Rebecca) Costo, of Euless, Texas; five grandchildren: Nick (Jenn) Costo, Joshua(Kelsey) Costo, Megan (Shane) McGraw, Joe Costo, and Jessica (Kevin) Reaves; and five great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Emmeline, and Claire Reaves, Catherine Anne Costo, and Kylie McGraw.In addition to her parents and husband, Norma was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Heuer in 2006.A Memorial Service and burial are being planned with the assistance of DuBois Funeral Home in Wheatfield, New York, in the Spring.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Norma’s name to the BC Resident Council Fund, c/o Karen Murray, 4 Burkle Street, Oswego, New York 13126.The family thanks the staff at Bishop’s Commons and St. Luke’s for the exceptional care and comfort given to Norma and her family.Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home, Oswego, NY and DuBois Funeral Home, Wheatfield, NY.
