Lillias M. (Laughlin) Rose, lifetime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 26, 2023. She was 97. She was born in Niagara Falls on October 1, 1925, a daughter of the late Matthew and Jane (McConnachie) Laughlin. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. Lillias married Walter R. Rose on September 26, 1947 and they remained happily married for 33 years until his passing in 1980.
Mrs. Rose worked in accounts receivable at General Abrasives for 22 years until retiring in 1985. She enjoyed travelling, reading, golfing and playing bridge and pinochle with her friends.
She is survived by two children: Gail (Frederick) Sdao and Robert R, (Deens) Rose, her grandson Christopher Rose and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son Ralph (late Sandra) Rose and 5 siblings: William (late Harriett) Laughlin, Sr., Katherine (late George) brown, Grace (late Leo) Zwiefka, Margaret (George) Petts and Matthew (Mary Lou) Laughlin.
Friends may call at the Lane Funeral Home, Inc., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls on Thursday, July 6 from 10 AM until Noon where funeral services will be held at Noon immediately following the visitation. Burial will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery in Lewiston.
