- Ronald Paul Ferchen, was peacefully called to his heavenly home with the Lord on April 6, 2025 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. Ron was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Born on September 5, 1937 in North Tonawanda, Ron was a long time member of St. James Lutheran Church in Bergholz, where he enjoyed playing in the church band. His passion for music was evident as a member of the Sanborn Fire Company Band, Bergholz German Band, Second Army Headquarters Band, and other local bands. He played the clarinet and saxophone. Ron served in the United States Army from 1961-1963. He worked at Bell Aerospace (Rocket Engine Machinist), Buffalo Pumps, and Aimco Brake Parts (Machine Set Up). After Ron’s retirement in 1999, he pursued his passionate hobbies of playing music, caring for his home, antiquing, and reading. Ron was a devoted follower of Christ and lived by faith throughout his life. He embraced life and shared his love for the Lord. “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14. Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia (Yousey) Ferchen of 51 years; their two children, Kimberly (Robert) Murphy and Ryan (Kimberly Reynolds) Ferchen; and two grandchildren, Andrew and Aaron Ferchen, who brought him immense joy. He is survived by his siblings, Myrna Beiter and Raymond Ferchen, as well as his brother and sister in-law, James and Phyllis (Yousey) Orchard. He is also survived by a nephew and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mildred (Poerschke) Ferchen and father and mother in-law, Floyd and Verda (Klingelsmith) Yousey. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 14, at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, 9535 Clarence Center Road, Clarence Center, followed by a private family burial service at Good Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. James Lutheran Church, 2437 Niagara Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304, or WNY Church Unleashed, 2 Wallace Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14214.
