- Joseph's Obituary
Joseph Occhipinti, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, in Niagara Falls, New York, at the age of 86.
Born in Pittston, Pennsylvania, on January 9, 1939, Joe was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, New York, where he built a life rooted in family, friendship, and service. He proudly served the New York State Parks for 34 years, working side by side with his best friend, Frank Calovini. Their journey began together and fittingly concluded on the same day, a testament to their enduring bond and shared commitment to public service.
Joe found joy in nature, spending countless hours camping, hunting, and fishing. His passion for the outdoors was matched only by his love for bowling, where he was known as an avid and accomplished bowler for many years.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Penelope Occhipinti; his brother, Nicholas Occhipinti and wife Elaine; his sister, Rosemary Kidd; his sons, Steven Occhipinti and wife Linda, and David Occhipinti and wife Mary; his cherished grandchildren, Michael, Marcus, and Lisa Occhipinti; and his beloved great-granddaughter, Lucia Occhipinti.
Joseph’s warmth, humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In accordance with his wishes, no funeral service will be held.
