  Obituary Margaret "Peggy" (nee Lorich) Szmania, age 76, of Tonawanda, died Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Kenmore Mercy Hospital, after a brief illness. Born October 26, 1943 in North Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy (nee Weber) Lorich. Peggy had been a lifelong resident of Tonawanda and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. She was the wife of John "Jack" Szmania; mother of Heather (Tom) Christy of Wauwatoba, Wisconsin, and Lynn (John) Sparkes of Tonawanda; grandmother of Angelica, Cordelia and Sebastian Christy; and sister of Paul Lorich of Texas, Mary Lorich of Amherst, and the late Donald Lorich. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. There is no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. If desired, memorials to the American Heart Association, 5488 Sheridan Drive, #300, Williamsville NY 14221, are preferred by the family.
