Of North Tonawanda, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the age of 89. Beloved husband of 67 years to Ann (Theisman) Selover; devoted father of Kelly (Gary) Gromlovits, Karen Selover, and Kathryn (James) Gromlovits; cherished grandfather to Melissa (Matthew) Walker, Andrew (Julie) Gromlovits, Caitlin (Kevin) Baughman, Kyle (Melanie) Gromlovits, and Rachel (Andrew) Emmons; loving great-grandfather to Maverick, Briella, Wyatt, Bennett, Sienna, Mason, Samuel, and Brinley. He is predeceased by his parents, Howard and Carrie (Mayer) Selover and brothers, Edward Selover and Howard Selover, Jr. Kervin graduated from Erie Community College receiving his degree in Fire Protection Technology. He was employed by the North Tonawanda Fire Department, retiring in 1996 as an Assistant Fire Chief after 35 years of service. In 2000, he was appointed as 1st Assistant Director of Emergency Management. He was a member of St. Timothy R.C. Church. Kervin was a charter member of the Board of Directors of the N.T. City Employees Federal Credit Union having served as President for 23 years. He was past President of the N.T. Professional Firefighters Association Local 1333 IAFF, a member of the N.T. Professional Firefighters Benevolent Association, and a life-member of N.T. Volunteer Firemen Benevolent Association. Kervin served in the United States Air Force and was a life member and Past Commander of Stephen Sikora Post #1322 American Legion. Together with his wife, Ann, they enjoyed several cruises to the Caribbean and travels to Australia, New Zealand, Alaska, Europe and more. Relatives and friends may visit Wednesday, March 19 from 4-8 PM at John O. Roth Funeral Home, 25 William St. (between Morgan and William Sts.), Tonawanda, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Timothy RC Church on Thursday, March 20 at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Elmlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kervin’s name to Roswell Park Alliance Fund, P. O. Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240, would be greatly appreciated.
