Susan A. Schearer passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, under the compassionate care of Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born on May 23, 1939, to the late Dr. John F. and Jean M. (nee Kaiser) Argue, Susan lived a life rich in love, service, and dedication.
Susan was a 1956 graduate of Wilson High School. She pursued her passion for nursing, graduating from Highland Hospital School of Nursing and earning her Bachelor's in Nursing in 1960. On March 4, 1961, Susan married her high school sweetheart, Ronald P. Schearer, in the Methodist Church in Wilson, NY. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and faith.
Susan’s professional journey as a nurse included working for her father, as well as at Hornell Hospital and Newfane Hospital. Following the birth of her children, she embraced her role as a homemaker and contributed to the family farm alongside her husband. Her life was marked by joyous moments spent camping at Lakeside Campgrounds, adoring her kitty companions, and cherishing the time spent with her children, grandchildren and friends. Sue and Ron enjoyed growing beautiful flowers, which brought joy to many at local markets. Sue’s grace and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Preceded in death by her infant son Timothy Schearer, brother John C. Argue, and brother-in-law William Faery, Susan leaves behind a legacy of faith and love. She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Ronald P. Schearer; her children, Amy (James) Greenwald, Jonathan (Dina) Schearer, Jacqueline Miller and Timothy (Mary) Roberts; her beloved grandchildren, Erin, Elizabeth (Kyle), Stacy, Ethan, Alyssa, Ava, Isaiah, Jonah, Kalleigh, Tessa, and great-granddaughter Cadence. Susan will also be deeply missed by her sister Anne M. Faery, sister-in-law Carol and her devoted niece, Hannah and her extended family.
