Notes - Her education was begun in the little frame school house then located across the road from the family home and completed in Williamsville Classical Institute, which at the time was in prosperous condition, and in which she subsequently served as one of their teachers.
Teaching was her life work and her services in that capacity were always in demand. She organized the Eggertsville singing class which to this day (1923) observes annual reunions, and was a member of Auld Land Syne Club.
