ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED
-Mr. and Mrs. Floyd R., Sdao,
Cleveland avenue, announce the
engagement ° of their daughter,
Shirley, to William' A. Bevacqua,
USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. William
J. Bevacqua, Fifteenth
street.
Miss Sdao, a graduate of Niagara
Falls high school, is,attending
Bryant and -Stratton Business institute,
Buffalo, where she is
majoring in accounting. Her
iiance, also a graduate.of Niagara
Falls high school, is a photographer's
mate serving in the Mariana
islands.

A Solemn High Mass. celebrated
by the Rev. Bernard J. Magee,
with the Rev. John Knego as
deacon, and the Rev. George Brennan
as sub-deacon, followed the
exchange of nuptial vows of Miss
Shirley Sdao and Mr. William A.
Bevacqua this morning at 10 o'clock
at Our Lady of ML Carmel Church.
Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd
R. Sdao, Cleveland Ave., the bride
was escorted by her father to the
altar enhanced with bouquets of
white snapdragons and red carnations.
Identical flowers in beauty
basket arrangements flanked the
altar. The bridegroom is the' son
of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Bevacqua.

Attired in a gown of imported
French rosepoint lace, the bride
carried a p/ayer book showered
with a white orchid and stephanotis.
Her wedding gown was fashioned!
with a lace bodice with a scalloped
neckline and long scalloped edged
torso. Her bouffant skirtof triple
tulle was inserted with panels of
hand clipped lace at the front and
back which extended into a sweeping-
train. Lace gauntlets completed
her ensemble.
Miss Phyllis Alongi was maid of
honor for the bride who also was
attended by her sister, Miss Barbara
Sdao and Miss Joan Crysler.
Their ballerina'-length gowns of
white nylon tulle were styled with
fitted bodice and bouffant skirts
centered with a panel of accordion
pleats. Cross draped jackets caught
with red bows, which also dotted the
waistlines, topped their gowns.
Miss Alongi wore a halo of daisies
with red bows and carried an arm
sheath of red carnations and eucharist
lilies. The bridesmaids'
headpieces were queen's crowns of
forget-me-nots and tulle ruffle
caught at the back with bows.
Their arm bouquets were of red
carnations.
Mr. Robert R. Bevacqua was best
man for his brother. Guests were
seated at the ceremony by Mr.
MRS. WILLIAM BEVACQUA
To travel to California
Anthony Parone and Mr. Robert
Laurrie.
Breakfast and dinner were served
at Luigi's Restaurant. The reception
for more than 500 guests will
be held in the ballroom of Hotel
Niagara this evening. Receiving^
will be Mrs. Sdao in a toast colored
dress of Chantilly lace over nylon
tulle with bronze accessories. Black
accessories have been chosen by
the bridegroom's mother to wear
with her beige lace dress over taffeta.
Each will wear a corsage
of orchids:
Mrs.' Sdao will depart on her
wedding trip in a beige wool suit
with a mink scarf and brown and
aqua accessories. An orchid corsage
will accent her costume. The couple
will motor to Montreal, and to
San Diego, Calif. Mr. and Mrs.
Bevacqua will reside in San Diego
for the duration of Mr. Bevacqua's
enlistment in the United States
