Gerald "Jerry" Winters

MAYVILLE — Gerald "Jerry" Winters, 75, of Webber Road, Mayville, formerly of Wilson, NY, died on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at his home. He was born on April 29, 1936 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Elmer and Beatrice Adams Winters.
He was a Hot Stick Lineman for Niagara Mohawk retiring in 1994. Jerry was a veteran of the National Guard, and was a member of the Lake Chautauqua Memorial Post VFW in Mayville, and a past member of the Chautauqua Golf Club.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Cantara Winters, whom he married on April 13, 1957 in Ransomville, NY; a son, Randy (Candi) Winters of Fredonia; two daughters, Diane (George Rance) Winters of Buffalo, and Patricia (Michael) Jusko of North Tonawanda; four grandchildren, Timothy and Mathew Winters, Derek and Morgan Jusko; a sister, Susan McDonald of Ransomville, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Laurie Winters; and a brother, Roger Winters.
The family will receive friends and family from 11:30 to 2:30 PM on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the Lake Chautauqua Memorial Post VFW in Mayville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Chautauqua County, 20 West Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, NY 14750 or to Chautauqua Fire Dept. Rescue Squad, Box F, Chautauqua, NY 14722. The Freay Funeral Home, Mayville is in charge of arrangements.
