NORTH TONAWANDA — Anthony M. “Tony” Putz, of North Tonawanda, entered into eternal rest Thursday, February 17, 2011, in his 97th year, at DeGraff Skilled Nursing Facility, after a lengthy illness. A lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, Mr. Putz was a retired employee of the Wurlitzer Co. and a former employee of Spaulding Fibre Co., where he was an accomplished Tool and Die Maker at both companies. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
Husband of the late Nora (nee Kilcoyne) Putz. Dearest father of Mary Ann (Ronald) Topolski of North Tonawanda. Proud and loving grandfather of Lynn (Brent) Kroening, Chris (Sue) Topolski and Stephen (Barb) Topolski; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jennifer, Daniel, Tara, Katie, Michael, Matthew, Patrick and great-great-grandson, Owen. Brother of the late Joseph Putz, Elizabeth Tooke, John (Ann) Putz, William (Anita) Putz, Frank Putz, Barbara Heiberger and Katherine Cornacker. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
No prior visitation. Relatives and friends are asked to gather at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church for a Memorial Mass to be celebrated on SATURDAY, February 19 at 9:30 AM. Flowers graciously declined. For those who wish, the family suggests memorial gifts may be made in Anthony’s honor to N.T. Meals On Wheels and Twin City Community Outreach, 100 Ridge Road, North Tonawanda, NY 14120.
