The marriage of Dorothy Louise
Whltbeck and Mr. Vernon R.
Grandin, who is stationed at the
Naval Training Station at Samp-
son, N.Y., was solemnized, Tues-
day evening, March 9, at 7 o'clock
in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran
church, with the Rev. Arthur
Schmoyer, officiating at the cere-
mony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs Ralph Whitbeck. of Mont-
eagle street, and the bridegroom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. James
Grandin. of Maple avenue.
The bride, who was given in
marriage by her father, was lovely
in a street-length gown of navy
blue and white, with white acces-
sories. A corsage of white gar-
denias completed her costume.
Miss Betty Whitbeck, sister of
the bride and her only attendant.
wore a gown of navy blue, with
pink accessories, and a corsage of
yellow daisies and pink sweet peas.
Mr. Veron Grandin, uncle of the
bridegroom, was his best man.
Immediately after the wedding a
reception was held at the home of
the bride, where a buffet luncheon
was served to 60 guests. The table
was centered with a lovely wedding
cake and tall white candles. the
mothr of the bride wore a gown of
brown crepe, with white accessor-
ies, and a corsage of orchids and
yellow daffodils. The mother of
the groom wore a gown of black
crepe with white accessories, and a
corsage of red roses and white
sweet peas.
The young couple received many
lovely gifts.
After a short wedding trip they
will return to this city.
