LEWISTON - Leonard F.
Piper-, 58, of 130 First St., a
lifelong resident of this village,
died unexpectedly at Mount St.
Mary's Hospital Monday (Oct.
13, 1969).
Mr. Piper had worked as a
miflwright at. Titanium Alloys
Manufacturing Division of National
Lead Co. for 27 years,
retiring in 1961. He was born
in Lewiston on June 8, 1911,
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur
Piper.
Mr. Piper was an active
member of Lewiston Fire Co.
No. 1 for 35 years and was
a former chief. He was
a member of the Niagara
County Fire Chiefs Association.
His wife, the former Bernice
Emory, died in 1967.
He is survived by two
daughters, Mrs. Joseph Koch,
Ransomville; and Mrs. Herbert
Snavely, Lewiston; a son,
Leonard Piper; a sister, Mrs.
Harry Strablo, and a brother,
Russell Piper, all of Lewiston,
and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held
Thursday at 11 a.m. at St.
Paul's Episcopal Church, with
the Rev. Richard A. Norris officiating.
Burial will be in
I Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call today at
Hardison Funeral Home from
7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday
from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The family said contributions
to the Lewiston Fire Co. No.
1 ambulance fund would be acceptable
as tributes.
