LOCKPORT, April 16-The body
of Alvin Frey, 22, of 389 Market
street, was recovered from the Barge
canal near the Market street park
today by police after grappling for
several hours.
Frederick Lloyd. 294 M a r k et
street, heard the cries of a man
coming from the canal at 2:30 a.m.
and saw some person struggling In
the water. He was unable to reach
the drowning man and notified
Glenn Fisher, night watchman of
the Western Block company, who
telephoned police.

Frey, said her husband left home
last evening and failed to return.
Dr. L. R. Hurlbut, coroner, is investigating.
Besides his wife, he l e a v e s a
young son, Alvin, Jr.; his father,
Willis Frey, Royalton, and a sister,
Mrs. Carl .Bedford, Appleton.
He served two years in the U. S.
Army and was honorably discharged
In April, 1947. Recently he had been
unemployed.
