NIAGARA FALLS — Richard R. Mang, of Niagara Falls, died Saturday, January 7, 2012, at home. He was 88. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on July 13, 1932, the son of Raymond and Lillian (Ziehl) Mang. He attended schools here, including Kelly Business Institute.
Richard served in the US Army from 1952-1954, stationed in Germany. He, along with his dad, owned and operated Mang's Fish Market for many years, until his retirement in 1996. An avid fisherman, he also enjoyed woodworking.
He was predeceased by his wife, Norma (Fuller) Mang on August 6, 1996.
Survivors include his step-daughter, Nancy Reid of Kenmore; four step-grandchildren, David and Scott Woolsoncroft, Jacqueline Plunkett and Tammy Kopack; several great-grandchildren and cousins, and a dear friend, John W. Willmott of Niagara Falls.
Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, where services will be held at 8 PM. The interment will be private in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton, NY.
